My friends and I are general tabletop gaming geeks with gothic leanings. I googled unsuccessfully for world goth day events, and couldn't find anything, so we decided to do something ourselves. Any chance to dress up, right?
I'm looking for suggestions on what to do, where to go. My first thought was gothic high tea at a restaurant somewhere. I'm into steampunk too. Surprise - all the restaurants that serve high tea are overpriced classy places that probably will give gothic attire the hairy eyeball, IF they even let us in.
Clubs are out. A: can't find any, B: it's a weeknight, C: some of us have young children, dressing them in black and bringing them along to whatever we do is preferable since it's hard to find a sitter on a weeknight.
Since it's a weekday, it'll be an after work dinner outing. There is a gorgeous park closeby that was actually built in the Victorian era - if we did an evening picnic potluck type thing we could have a great spot for pics. Which would mean tea is out - no way of getting hot water, meh.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? We'd all be going Victorian Goth - closet diving thru our steampunk and random costumery and finding all things black and vampire-y, so somewhere where we can FLAUNT our lace and bustles and top hats would be preferable.

Just go for it. We are Victorian Goths and any reason to get dressed up cannot be missed. Nothing happening around our area so decided to celebrate WGD by having a evening meal at the local pub, started with 4 goths now up to 13 so should be a good night. I hope you find some way to celebrate. Keep calm and be Goth.
