In late 2011, Club Gothika was tapped by the folks who run World Goth Day HQ and designated as being World Goth Day HQ in SL for 2012. There was much rejoicing. (yay.)
But since every day is goth day for us, we figured just one day just wasn't going to cut it.
So we decided to take the whole month of May(see how we are?), filling it with all kinds of dark and gloomy fun for goths of all flavors.
The WGD Nightstalker Hunt will take place from May 1 to May 31, and will feature goth shops from all over SL and creators from all over the world. You can hunt for prizes and get some great dark stuff (if you can find it...)
The World Goth Fair, hosted by Dark Eternity, will feature some of the best gothic merchants from throughout SL, and (like many other SL fairs) will benefit a charity- in this case, The Sophie Lancaster Foundation. (which you can read about at www.sophielancasterfoundation.com/) It will run from May 15-31.
Of course, on World Goth Day itself, Club Gothika will have a full day of events, contests and generalized madness for you to enjoy- we're hoping to get some very special guest DJs to join in the fun as well.
Finally, the staff of Club Gothika in cooperation with Nikita Weymann of Grimalkin Workshop are putting together a cookbook, called the Omnomnomicon(we talk about food a LOT down at Gothika). All proceeds from the sale of the cookbook will be donated to the Sophie Lancaster Foundation.
If you're interested in being a merchant in either the WGD Nightstalker Hunt or the Goth Fair, please grab an application below. Applications for both events will be accepted until April 15 at midnight SLT.
Everyone else? Prepare to get your goth on.

Please see below information for the SL Hunt Group which includes application details to be placed in a notecard:

Hi there, and thanks for your interest in the 2012 WGD Nightstalker Hunt. This notecard serves both as an application for content creators and a FAQ, so please read it carefully. There are three parts to this notecard. Make sure you read them all.
Please return all completed applications to either Axi Kurmin or Dare Munro(or both, what the hell- it can't hurt.) We're sorry, but incomplete applications will be rejected by default. Applications must be received by midnight SLT on April 15, 2012. No applications will be considered past that time.

I. The FAQ
1. What is WGD?
WGD stands for World Goth Day. It's a RL event started by two DJs in the UK (Martin Oldgoth and Cruel Britannia), to encourage goths of all flavors to get their goth on for one day and enjoy themselves. Since that time, the idea has spread worldwide, with events all over the globe.
It was only a matter of time before it hit the metaverse.
In late 2011, Club Gothika was chosen by the folks at World Goth Day Official to be WGD Headquarters within Second Life. But because every day is Goth Day at Gothika, one day wasn't going to cut it.
So we just took the whole month. We're greedy like that.
One of the events planned is this hunt.
You can learn about World Goth Day if you like, by going here: www.worldgothday.com and checking out what's going on in RL as well.
2. Does it have a theme?
The theme is Get Your Goth On. Interpret at will.
This is an opportunity for you as a creator to define your favorite brand or type of gothy goodness and really show the SL grid what your idea of goth is, some examples of types of goth are:
Victorian Goth
Old School Goth
Vampire Goth
Romantigoth
Glamourgoth
Goth-punk
Goth-industrial
Baby-goth
Cybergoth
EGL
3. What is your vendor acceptance policy?
No resellers or affiliate stores. No business in a box. All content must be original. We are looking to promote content creators, not resellers. We would prefer that vendors offer things that are original to the hunt (what you do with them afterwards is your call, but we don't want anything given away in the hunt that is already on sale.) We expect that your hunt prize will be in keeping with the kinds of things you create. We expect you to honor the theme and mood of our hunt, so if your plans are to give away a t-shirt and ripped jeans, we're going to tell you to try again next year. Finally, we want you to give away something of value, something equivalent to what you otherwise sell- in short, no crappy prizes.
We are looking for gothshops. We're looking for goth merchants. This is, rather specifically, a goth hunt. Though there's plenty of fine and talented merchants from all over SL, we really are trying to promote GOTHS here, not "shops who sell normal stuff, but can put together something dark just for the hunt."
To be clear: This is a hunt by goths, for goths.
SOME SPECIAL NOTES:
***IF YOU HAVE AN ART GALLERY***
If you, personally, did not create the artwork or photos in that gallery YOURSELF, do not apply to this hunt. We will not accept you. If you grabbed it from the net, google, whatever, and messed with it in photoshop- do not apply to this hunt. We will not accept you.
It does not matter if you make "an original piece just for the hunt" if everything else in your store originated as someone else's artwork. We will not take you. we are *Not interested* in work that is not completely created by the merchant. Please, save your time and ours- we *really will not accept you* if you're selling work that isn't yours.
***IF YOU HAVE A TEXTURE STORE***
If you, personally, did not create the textures in that gallery YOURSELF, by your own hand/photo work, do not apply to this hunt. We will not accept you. If you grabbed it from the net, filter forge, whatever, and messed with it in photoshop- do not apply to this hunt. We will not accept you.
It does not matter if you make "an original piece just for the hunt" if everything else in your store originated as someone else's texture. We will not take you. we are *Not interested* in work that is not completely created by the merchant. Please, save your time and ours- we *really will not accept you* if you're selling work that isn't yours.
***IF YOU HAVE A STORE THAT SELLS ANY ARTWORK/TEXTURES AT _ALL_***
Please read the above. This rule applies to you also.
There will be *NO EXCEPTIONS* to this policy.
4. Will there be hints/a blog/a group/a whatever.
We have a group for the hunts we organize already that we'll use for vendors- to give out information, etc. We have no plans for a group for hunters. You are welcome to give out hints in your location for your prize. However there will be no official hints given, no hint blog. They're on their own. We will print a list of all stores in order on the web so people can start/skip as they need to.
5. What about signs, promotions, etc.?
You will be required to display the hunt sign (so people know for sure you're actually participating.)
6. What does the hunt box look like?
It will be the smiley faced WGD logo, in 3d.
7. Where can I hide my hunt prize?
50 meters from the landing point to your store.
** You cannot retexture the hunt box, nor can you resize it. You must keep it the same size, shape, colors and texture it is when it's given to you.** YOU CANNOT ADD SCRIPTS OF ANY KIND TO THE BOX. Period. Doing so will have you pulled from the hunt.
8. How many applications will you accept?
We are putting a firm cap at 100 stores.
9. I am on an adult sim, is that okay?
Yes. Hunters can either age verify, or cope.
10. How will you determine the order of the hunt?
Other than the first and last locations, by random number generator. Seriously- that's how we do it.
11. Who is organizing the hunt?
Dare Munro of Dare Designs and Axi Kurmin of Damned Good Design SL.
12. I have a mall store with a central mall landing point. Is that okay?
We're really sorry, but no. The stores must be mainstores that can control their landing points.
13. How will I know if I've been accepted to the WGD Nightstalker Hunt?
We will come visit your store and check you out. If we accept you, we'll tell you, and send you an invite to join the crossover hunt group. if all else fails, the final list of vendors will be up on the web no later than April 17. Yes, we know group space is at a premium. But this is the fastest way we have to get information out to everyone. You really, really do have to join the group.
