Ok guys when are we going to have WGD? I need to start encouraging people to have events on the facebook page, I can't do that without a firm date

Heya Cruel, yeh it has been a while, been so busy with jobsearch and the like, with no luck and keeping trying to get the facebook page up to 20k again that I haven't been here in a while, though I do drop by your blog when it gets updated. Going to put this forum on the facebook page again and see what happens

The weekend closest to May 22nd (in Canada, that makes it right before Victoria Day!). If it's left strictly the 22nd,eventually that'll be a weekday, which wouldn't be quite so desirable.

I can't seem to vote in the poll, but I'd like to put in a bid for 3rd Friday, that way Sacrilege will always be on WGD ;-) www.sacrilege.org.uk Alixandrea

Yes; Martin & I spoke briefly about it after he mentioned people were starting to ask about it. We decided that WGD should be an actual set date rather than an 'event'. If it's good enough for Halloween and all that...
Promoters will still be able to work around this; there's no reason why a weekend event can't be organised off the back of it, and hell, when WGD falls on a Wednesday we technically have two weekends as well as the day itself to party on (assuming our respective livers are up to the task!)

Yep.. we're off again. Pretty soon I'll get round to working out the Awards voting again, and I guess we'll have to wipe this board ready for new events. NI've no time to arrange a new CD again this year, but last years is still available if anyone wants a copy.. www.stayindie.com/hopeAll the merch pages are still there too if you still regret not buying the T shirt, links are on here somewhere. Excited? I am!

I vote for the 3rd Saturday of May because that way it can never fall on a weekday when most people work. World Goth Day wouldn't be the same if I couldn't dress up for it. <3

Must figure out how to blat the board & start again. Failing that, I'll wipe it bit by bit. We can't have people looking forward to going to last year's events, that would be more than a bit catastrophic!

Right; forum blatted. Turns out it was easier to do than I thought! We now have a blank canvas upon which people can organise & advertise their events.
Let's go!

I'm happy to have finally stumbled upon a site where I can exchange ideas! Though this thread is listed as WGD 2011, the recent posts suggest it's a pretty active thread. If the WGD or any other known event happens to take place in Europe in 2013, I would love to provide massage/energy work (Reiki, Polarity Therapy, etc). I've perused the web and Facebook extensively and surprised to not see any of the holistic therapies catering to the Gothic culture. However, I have created a page and within just a couple days it has been found by a few other energy workers within the culture! I'm traveling from Sedona, AZ on December 7 to S America where I'll remain for a few months. In May I plan to head to Europe and travel extensively, beginning in Italy. I am going to share my own therapeutic modalities while learning others. Some believe energy work and even massage is the work of the Devil, so I believe my beloved Gothic community is right up the alley of great people to cater specifically to. My touch brings people on a journey - a gift of lifetimes of shamanic practices it seems. I love life, death, and rebirth. Always have. My approach is perfect for the Gothic existence and I hope to meet many of you along my journey! Here's the page, if you are so inclined to stop in: www.facebook.com/gothicbodyenergywerks?ref=hlLove, Light, and Darkness
